Become an Au Pair or Care Au Pair- What are the requirements?

Your are a citizen of Australia, Austria, Belgium, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Mexico*, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, Ukraine*?

*Mexico and Ukraine are currently not accepting applicants. These countries are on hold

You are between 18 and 35* years old.

*Some countries have an age limit of 30 years

You are not married and have no children.

You have a basic knowledge of English or French.

You have sufficient funds (for most countries: 2,500 CAD**) and a return ticket.

You must have a medical done in order to work with children or the elderly

NEW: Are you a caregiver who has experience or is training to take care of seniors? (Germany/Austria: Altenpfleger)

We are also accepting “Care Au Pairs” young people who love caring for seniors.

You may be eligible to apply for a Working Holiday Visa which, essentially, is an Open Work Permit to work in Canada.
